Engagement Session in Aix en Provence

Author: Delia and Fabien live and work in Paris they have chosen to get married in Aix-en-Provence. It’s a marvellous town, and light seems to rest there as it does nowhere else. A wonderful day started with finding the wedding venue at the Town Hall, and ended with cours Mirabeau, not without passing through Cour Gourmande. One of my most favourite sessions for a long time. The wedding itself will be taking place next May in an absoluteley sublime place: La Commanderie de Peyrassol.

English-Scottish wedding between Ramatuelle and Saint Tropez
Les mariages britanniques ont ceci de particulier qu’il y règne une atmosphère plus solennelle, une intensité, une dramaturgie que nous avons oubliées en France. Arlen and Matthew have lived in the Golfe of Saint Tropez for the past few years and preside in the yachting industry and property management. For thier wedding they chose the superb location “Villa Ithaka” with it’s immense exotic garden situated in the hills of Ramatuelle.
Thanks to the help of Arlene’s large family and meticulous organistation a string of frenzied activites ruled down to the religious ceremony. In fact Matthew had forgotten to shave and I had to edit all of the photos.
You can imagine the ambiance of the evening with two Scottish rugy teams making up the guest list.

Wedding in Gironde at the Château d’Yquem
At the beginning of the year I mentioned Audrey and Sébastien’s Engagement Session at Saint-Tropez and their subsequent Discovery Album. A few months later I shared the photos from their Civil wedding at Biot Townhall, near Antibes. We meet again at Sainte Croix du Mont, in the heart of a Sauternes vineyard, hardly a few hundred yards away from the famous Château d’Yquem, for their religious ceremony. Sainte Croix du Mont’s church is an imposing building at the top of a hill which surveys the whole plain. The view from the church square is quite remarkable and I like to think that the sound of the bell has been a beacon for the region for many centuries.
We had planned to meet yet again for a Trash the Dress session near Saint Emilion. I had therefore waited a little bit before publishing their wedding photos online, but what with their careers recently taking up a lot of time as well as the news of a happy event next May, this Trash the Dress session has been relegated to oblivion! So quite late in the day, you’ll see here a few photos of their wedding, characterised by a party atmosphere in Bayonne where the best bullfighting in the South West of France takes place.

Mariage à Marseille en Photographe invité
Chaque année, je profite des rares trous de mon agenda pour aller en tant que photographe invité sur des mariage de confrères. A charge de revanche car ils viennent ensuite m’assister sur un des miens. Je trouve la chose très enrichissante car le photographe est par essence quelqu’un qui travaille toujours tout seul et c’est l’occasion de découvrir d’autres façons de travailler, d’autres angles, trucs et astuces nouvelles. Il y a toujours à apprendre des autres. Après Toulouse en Septembre dernier avec Bruno Espagnol et avant le Pays de Galles, cette fois j’ai suivi mon confrère Jean Baptiste Paye à Marseille où il couvrait le mariage de Choukri et Johanna. Soirée Gastronomique à Croisette Beach Cannes
Ravi de pouvoir me changer un peu l’esprit j’étais hier soir à Cannes sur La Croisette en face du Martinez. Une soirée à thème gastronomique dans Le cadre exceptionnel de Croisette Beach réunissait quantité de figures de la nuit et de la restauration sur la Côte d’Azur. C’était l’occasion de saluer nombres de personnes que je croise tout au long de la saison sur les mariages et autres évènements festifs de Cannes à Monaco.
